Occasionaly you're sent something really good at 5pm on a work day and you don't mind sticking it up on the blog before you leave for home even if you know it means missing the 17:24 from Brentford.

In this instance that "something really good" is a clip of the nation's most talented footballer showing off a variety of other (rather impressive) skills during a motion capture session for EA Sports.

The Dangers of Steroids And Crap TV

People often say to me "Mike, exactly when did TV become the altar for the the cult of mindless celebrity?" This question is usually put before the wine kicks in and they go off on a "I blame the media..." rant.

But you know what, I have the answer. I've found the moment when good old fashioned televison became the celebrity bloated idiot box.

In 1986 when Hulkamania was at it height, WWF Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan did a pumped to the gills, steroid fuelled promo that as far as I am concerned is the big bang of crap TV that gave creation to Big Brother, Celebrity Love Island and Matthew Kelly. Old Father Television is here too, in all his dinner suited glory, in the form of Mean Gene.

Kids this is why you don't take drugs.
