You could live your whole life and never hear proper American Piedmont blues played this way. But then why would you want to do that?

Frank Schaap has played with just about everybody worth listening to. But he's a modest kinda guy and lets his guitar do most of the talking. When we saw him at the Bar Des Oiseaux last Saturday he had played 20 nights without a break and still did stunning versions of Mr Bo Jangles, Two Sleepy People and the timeless Biscuit Blues (it's on his website - the link's below).

Frank lives in Nice in the South of France right now although rumour is he's moving to Berlin. Either way he's also playing dates in the UK and Europe this summer. So keep an eye out.

Just back from the land of the Euro with travellers tales of a great hotel on Italy's Amalfi Coast. Forget that it's called Casa Angelina and concentrate on the white walls, stunning decor and million dollar view.

The website doen't really do justice to the 40 bedrooms, all with a brilliant view of the coast from Positano to Capri. The staff and restaurant are all fantastic and you need to get there while you can as once the Conde Nasties arrive prices will rocket and you'll be left crying into your Prosecco.
